Denny Chapman's Wild West Show at Head & Heel Ranch

Above are some pictures from a 45 minute Wild West Show we produced in Brooksville FL Saturday, Oct 18. I opened the show with a Singing Cowboy Act, and performed a Roman Riding act and a Mounted Shooting act. Deke Rivers -"The Pistolero"- performed a whip artistry act and his famous fancy gunspinning and fast draw act, as well as a comedy clown act; and our newest equine entertainment student, Keana Guerra, performed Trick Riding and a Trick Horse Act. It takes a lot of work and preparation to produce a show of this length, and it went off withouth a hitch. Everyone in the audience was on their feet at the closing of the show, which took place at the beautiful Head & Heel Ranch (http://www.headandheelranch.com/). Take a moment and check out the website for this beautiful facility. It's the perfect location for a corporate group, family getaway or holiday party. A big thanks to Wayne and Debbie Benedict for hosting our entertainment crew with wonderful southern hospitality. Check out http://www.dennychapman.com/ for upcoming performance dates!

Indiana Jones-Whip Cracking!

Here's a pic of Dawson Rose from Orlando, a young Indian Jones fan who visited the ranch for some whip cracking lessons with me and Deke Rivers recently. We have a feature specialty act with an Indiana Jones theme, as well as the "Surfin' Cowboy" and "Wild West" themes. Speaking of Wild West, we'll be displaying whip artistry as well as gunspinning, mounted shooting, roman riding, trick riding and trick horses this weekend during our very own Wild West Show at Head & Heel Ranch this coming Saturday!

We're busy conducting a Mounted Shooting Boot Camp this week with some guests from Virginia. Above is a picture of me giving a mounted Shooting lesson to Tommie Turvey's wife, Karen (Jones) Turvey last year on my champion shooting horse "Spanky". (Karen and Tommie just got married in Las Vegas last week!) Saturday, we're producing and performing in a Wild West Show for Head & Heel Ranch in Brooksville FL, then getting ready to compete in the Florida Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association's State Championships in Marianna FL at the end of the month. Denny Chapman to headline Holiday with Horses!

This event benefits the Marion Country Therepeutic Riding program, as well as "Horse for Heros" - a nationwide program for wounded veterans sponsored by NARHA, North American Riding for the Handicapped Assoc. This exciting new program came to our area in 2007 when a pilot project for 5 veterans, amputees or brain injured, from Iraq and 2 other wars, climbed aboard horses at the Marion Therapeutic Riding Association. Needless to say, this was a day of bottomless fun, as well as therapy to improve the vets’ balance, coordination, and emotional well-being. This new program supplements services offered on a regular basis to children, stroke victims, and others deemed to benefit. We'll be headlining the event with some singing and a specialty act not to be missed!
