We've been giving private mounted shooting lessons and clinics here in Ocala for the last two weeks - and we're gearing up to compete in a Cowboy Mounted Shooting competition in the Daytona FL area Saturday, then a "Surfin' Cowboy" specialty act performance for STRIDE Dressage Association's Annual Awards Banquet Sunday.

Stephanie Cons - Apprentice Trainer/Performer Extraordinaire!
Here are some pics of Stephanie Cons, our Apprentice Trainer/Performer from Ontario, Canada. She's come a long way and has become an accomplished Trick and Roman Rider and is working trick, liberty and dancing horses as well.
We will be the feature act at Holiday with Horse tomorrow night at Canterbury Equestrian Showplace in Newberry FL. I've been contracted to perform our popular "Surfin' Cowboy" specialty act, as well as singing the National Anthem horseback to open the show. I'm very patriotic and proud to do this and have many fond memories of opening sporting events and shows around the country by singing the national anthem for them. I've even sung the Canadian National Anthem to open the Can-Am Equine Emporium north of the border! I opened my "Best of the West" show at the Kentucky Horse Park while singing horseback, walking through the audience to make my way into the arena...That show really got me a lot of publicity.
2009 is already booking up with specialty act appearances, clinics and announcing/emcee jobs, so things are looking good! Thanks for checking out our blog - go to http://www.dennychapman.com/ to see our updated schedule of events!
Happy Trails and Happy Holidays from me and the Wild West Entertainment crew!

A great year for Denny Chapman's Wild West Entertainment!
As we're gearing up for our last couple of 2008 appearances, I'm reminded of the fantastic year we've had performing and making appearances all around the country. Suncoast Bedding and Mane N Tail, my two principal sponsors, made it possible for me to drive and fly thousands of miles to perform specialty acts, compete in mounted shooting events, produce clinics and announce events all over the United States. Above are a few pictures of me giving out sponsor-donated products at a recent Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association event. We're taking the whole Wild West Entertainment crew to the Ocala Christmas Parade this weekend - I'll be Roman Riding, several of our students will be trick riding with our apprentice trainer/performer Stephanie Cons, "The Pistolero" Deke Rivers will be performing mounted gunspinning, and even our little trick mini "Flea" will be involved. We're replacing the Budweiser Clydedales this year as the feature equine group! Dec 20 I'll be the feature performer in the Canterbury Showplace's "Holiday with Horses" show (which benefits the Marion County Therepeutic Riding program), then we'll be gearing up for a mounted shooting boot camp, a specialty act performance and a mounted shooting competition - all in the first week of January 2009! It's bound to be another busy year for us and there are several new and exciting things in the works. Stay updated by checking on this blogsite, as well as our website: http://www.dennychapman.com/ . P.S. Check out http://www.equinemonthly.com/web/se_1arc1208.pdf, page 3, for a cool full page magazine ad we're featured in for Sujncoast Bedding...

Mounted Shooting and Wild West Entertainment!
Here are a couple of pictures from the set of Western Shooting Horse Magazine Television in Amarillo TX. Denny provided announcing and color commentary for the CMSA World Championships there, as well as hosted interviews for WSH with former World and National Champion Annie Bianco-Ellet and junior champs Cody Clark and Mikayla Zayas, and other notable figures in the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association. Here's a link to the videos:
In recent news, Denny was the top lever action rifle shooter at the Florida State SASS Mounted Shooting Championships held in Williston FL over the weekend. "I really enjoy representing my sponsors at these events," Denny Said. Denny donated Suncoast Bedding product and Mane N Tail prizes for the awards ceremony.
Denny's WILD WEST ENTERTAINMENT company also provided entertainment Saturday night for the Florida Thoroughbred Farm Manager's Stallion Showcase Awards Dinner at the Ocala Hilton. "The Pistoloero," Deke Rivers, and trick roper Shane Kuehn joined Denny to present a 30-minute show with cowboy music, gunspinning, whip cracking and trick roping. We'll have some pictures up soon from both of these events - so check back! Denny and his trick riding students and performers will be in the Ocala Christmas Parade Dec 6, and will be the featured horse group this year, replacing the Budweiser Clydesdales!

Denny at the Florida Horse Park
We had a great time entertaining the crowds at the Florida Horse Park's "Mane Event" Saturday. Our apprentice trainer/performer Stephanie Cons and I performed trick and liberty horses, sidesaddle, and roman riding. There was a mounted archery group there as well, with demos between our acts. It was a great day with several thousand people on the grounds. We had spent the previous day signing pictures for our sponsors at the Central Florida Horse Expo, but unfortunately, did not have the crowds that we did at the FHP. The Park is a great venue for horse events and expos and has a very talented staff of horse people who are always ready to help. We fly out to Amarillo tomorrow to work on the announcing/color commentary staff of the CMSA for the World Championships. It's the first time in Amarillo, after moving from Las Vegas - so we're looking forward to seeing all of our old friends competing in a new venue. I'll be competing in the Florida State Championships for SASS Mounted Shooting the last weekend of the month so stay tuned for results and updates on our travels! Happy Trails from http://www.dennychapman.com/

Tomorrow, we'll be providing entertainment at the Florida Horse Park's "Mane Event", then getting ready to fly out to Amarillo TX Tuesday for the CMSA World Championships. Busy, busy, busy...

Denny Chapman's Wild West Show at Head & Heel Ranch
Above are some pictures from a 45 minute Wild West Show we produced in Brooksville FL Saturday, Oct 18. I opened the show with a Singing Cowboy Act, and performed a Roman Riding act and a Mounted Shooting act. Deke Rivers -"The Pistolero"- performed a whip artistry act and his famous fancy gunspinning and fast draw act, as well as a comedy clown act; and our newest equine entertainment student, Keana Guerra, performed Trick Riding and a Trick Horse Act. It takes a lot of work and preparation to produce a show of this length, and it went off withouth a hitch. Everyone in the audience was on their feet at the closing of the show, which took place at the beautiful Head & Heel Ranch (http://www.headandheelranch.com/). Take a moment and check out the website for this beautiful facility. It's the perfect location for a corporate group, family getaway or holiday party. A big thanks to Wayne and Debbie Benedict for hosting our entertainment crew with wonderful southern hospitality. Check out http://www.dennychapman.com/ for upcoming performance dates!

We have a feature specialty act with an Indiana Jones theme, as well as the "Surfin' Cowboy" and "Wild West" themes. Speaking of Wild West, we'll be displaying whip artistry as well as gunspinning, mounted shooting, roman riding, trick riding and trick horses this weekend during our very own Wild West Show at Head & Heel Ranch this coming Saturday!

Above is a picture of me giving a mounted Shooting lesson to Tommie Turvey's wife, Karen (Jones) Turvey last year on my champion shooting horse "Spanky". (Karen and Tommie just got married in Las Vegas last week!) Saturday, we're producing and performing in a Wild West Show for Head & Heel Ranch in Brooksville FL, then getting ready to compete in the Florida Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association's State Championships in Marianna FL at the end of the month. Denny Chapman to headline Holiday with Horses!
Click here for details: http://www.canterburyshowplace.com/posterHH.pdf
This event benefits the Marion Country Therepeutic Riding program, as well as "Horse for Heros" - a nationwide program for wounded veterans sponsored by NARHA, North American Riding for the Handicapped Assoc. This exciting new program came to our area in 2007 when a pilot project for 5 veterans, amputees or brain injured, from Iraq and 2 other wars, climbed aboard horses at the Marion Therapeutic Riding Association. Needless to say, this was a day of bottomless fun, as well as therapy to improve the vets’ balance, coordination, and emotional well-being. This new program supplements services offered on a regular basis to children, stroke victims, and others deemed to benefit. We'll be headlining the event with some singing and a specialty act not to be missed!
